Easter Surprise
This 54 year old woman came to our Emergency Room the day after Easter holding a "spit cup" and stating that she could not swallow for the past 10 hours. When we took a look down her esophagus during a gastroscopy exam, we found and removed the following lump of tissue which was blocking the way. The esophagus below was normal. After the exam she told us that she had been eating hard boiled Easter eggs and accidently swallowed one whole. She was advised to chew her food better to avoid another Easter surprise in the future...
